これは、1989年7月22日、USA Colorado州BoulederのNaropa Institute（現University）での朗読／speechを書き下ろしたものらしい（単行本未収録？）。

皮肉と奇怪なイメージに満ち溢れた韜晦message。まあBurroughsのadviceを本気にする人はいないだろうが（笑）。

これはBurroughsのstageでも、持ちネタとして何度か朗読されているようで、YouTubeにもその様子がupされている。

聴衆、冒頭から爆笑である（笑）。そういうmessage。

HALLUCINATION ENGINEに収録されているversionでは冒頭が欠落しているが、実際の冒頭（講演の中程だが）はこんなだ。

ここで、Burroughsの人生をよくご存知の聴衆は、もうドッカンドッカン笑う。そりゃそうだ（笑）。

もうBurroughsくらいになると、LaswellやHal Willner、そして聴衆のオモチャになることくらい全く平気。これまでも、GinsbergやKerouacのオモチャになってきたのだし。

HULLUCINATION ENGINEに戻ると、この曲の録音時、Burroughsは80歳。もうお疲れだ。Endingにはため息まで収録されている（笑）。

これは、あとで紹介するSPARE ASS ANNIE AND OTHER TALES [Island Red Label] release 1993 にも別versionが収録されている（というよりそっちが先か？）

このアルバムを、最後まで紹介しておこう。

06. Cucumber Slumber (Fluxus Mix)は、Weather Reportの名曲を取り上げたことでJazzファンが食いつく曲だが、最初の方はTabla Beat Scienceの原型のようなグチャグチャな曲になっている。

Weather Report／MYSTERIOUS TRAVELLER [Columbia] release 1974 収録の同曲のremixなので、Shorterの音は新録ではない。

07. The Hidden Garden / Naimaは、SEVEN SOULSでもfeatureされたFahim Dandanが登場。Simon Shaheenのoudも入り、Arab歌謡としてレベルの高いものになっている。

後半はJonas Hellborgのbass-soloでNaima。前とのつながりがよくわからないが（笑）、美しいsoloだから許そう。

08. Shadows of Paradiseは、ShankarとSkopelitisをfeatureした曲。Laswellの地を這うようなbassが全体を支配している。

こうして聴くと、もともとごった煮のような作品なのだが、その中でもBurroughs参加曲は異質だ。

Words of Adviceに戻ると、この曲はいろいろ編集を変えて12"singleとしても発売されている（analog only）。

持ってないし、見たことすらない。CD化してほしいなあ。

実は、上で紹介したHALLUCINATION ENGINEよりもこれが先。中身はさっき紹介したHal Willner produce作と関係したものらしく、この12"singleも、Hal WillnerとThe Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisyの二人がproducersだ。

Bill LaswellとHal Willnerが仕事で交錯するのはとても珍しい。この辺の事情はもう少し詳しく知りたいところだ。
